  Excellent overnight stop over or even just for a toilet break and rest from driving for a few hours . Shielded from the highway traffic noise by the hill it makes a peaceful change from most others. Come morning you are greeted by very personable mobile barista ready to give you coffee addicts your morning fix.

  Was there during the flooding at end of March 2017 [Pacific H/way closed at Chinderah]. I was blocked in by inconsiderable backpackers and couldn't get out as I have a 5.9 metre campervan.....took great delight in waking backpackers up to let me out. Returned later but could not find a park due to backpackers taking up all the spots including caravan parking. They were probably there for days [in Camps Australia book its only for 20 hours]. They had tents pitched under shade sails and their clothing strung along the fence......it looked like slum city and unattractive. When I returned I decided to park in the 12 tonne area to have a rest however due to the slope [medical] I turned vehicle opposite way [did a U-turn]. Police vehicle arrived later & told others to move on however there was no room in caravan parking area but he did not talk to me....after he left I moved on without knowing about fine. Today I received an expensive parking fine......this may not have happened if backpackers don't take up every available space & forget or don't care about others. Am not impressed re to backpackers who just think of themselves / if members of the travelling public had to use rest rooms there was nowhere to park.....there should be a ranger or patrol to move on the culprits. My stay there cost me all due to inconsiderate backpackers. Don't care if you comment......I have had it backpackers.....they have become a nuisance all over Australia.
